About Astra Microwave Products Ltd
Headquartered in Hyderabad, India, Astra Microwave Products Limited, established in 1991, is a leading designer, developer, and manufacturer of advanced radio frequency (RF) and microwave sub-systems. These sophisticated solutions are vital for applications in defense, space, meteorology, and telecommunications, serving both the Indian market and international clients through exports. The company's extensive product portfolio spans several critical areas. For radar electronics, it delivers components such as active antenna array units, TR modules (including wideband types), solid-state power amplifiers, receiver exciters, central units, antenna beam forming units, various receiver subsystems (like array group and monopulse), waveform generators, and Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuits (MMICs). In the domain of electronic warfare (EW), offerings include specialized antennas, advanced super components (e.g., EDLVA and BLI), EW simulators, and diverse receivers like DIFM, front-end, up/down convertors, and homodyne receivers. Its strategic electronics and telemetry division produces command guidance units, radio proximity fuzes, phased array-based telemetry tracking systems, sub-systems for gimbal-based and AESA seekers, ground and air-borne data link systems, as well as a variety of data and video telemetry transmitters, transponders (L, S, C, and X-Band), encoders, decoders, and telemetry receivers. Astra Microwave also provides a range of ground-based systems, featuring sub-systems for multi-object tracking radar, coherent frequency generators, L-band modulators, 8x8 switchable routers for earth stations, V/UHF T/R modules for ST radar, and Ka-band indoor/outdoor units. For space applications, it develops S-level (on-board) and flight model systems, including sub-systems for SAR payloads, geostationary satellites, and remote sensing satellites. Beyond core electronics, the company contributes to environmental monitoring with products like water level measurement devices, various meteorological stations (agromet, automatic rain gauge, automatic weather), and different tower masts (mini boundary layer, 50m, agro met). Additionally, it supports security applications through perimeter surveillance systems, non-linear junction detectors, and broader homeland security products. Complementing its manufacturing, Astra Microwave offers specialized services, including MMIC testing and assembly, and comprehensive contract manufacturing.
